How it works

The French House is available for events sponsored by members the UW-Madison French & Italian Department and by our campus and community members. Events must be related to the Department’s mission.

Space:  Most events take place in our salon (up to 40-50 guests).  If space is available, we provide the room free of charge.

Audio / Video: We can provide a digital projector, speakers and screen. You bring the laptop. (Mac users need to have a ‘dongle’ to connect to the projector.)

Refreshments:

  • Dept. of French & Italian members: The French House can provide refreshments free of charge; options include cheese & crackers, cookies and punch, or tea & coffee (whatever works with the time of day and your audience). More substantial refreshments can be provided if your event budget can afford it.
  • Other organizers: The French House can work with your budget to provide refreshments. When you fill out the form below, please let us how much you can spend (total, not per person) and we’ll do our best, which is often better than you can find elsewhere.

You are the event contact person and the event organizer. If there are charges for your event, the French House will provide an estimate and/or invoice to you and to the person you identify (below). We do not provide that person any other materials that s/he may need such as lists of attendees or presenters.
