Are you a native French speaker coming to the University of Wisconsin – Madison? If so, we need you! The French House can offer you the following opportunities:
Free lunch! Yes, that’s right. Every day, Monday through Friday (while school is in session), we have about 40 or so (mostly) American students who come for lunch to speak French. Some are registered for a 1-credit course called ‘Practical French Conversation’. To accommodate such a large group, we invite 4-5 native French speakers to join us for lunch, aux frais de la Maison. In exchange, we just as for a commitment for the semester (such as, every Monday, or every Tuesday & Thursday); and of course, missing one day here or there is not a crime. Please contact us and let us know if you’re interested (even if you don’t have your schedule yet).
Resident Assistant: The French House offers assistantships each year to native French-speaking students from the partner institutions and programs below. Our assistants receive a 1/3 reduction in their room & board fees (see current non-discounted rates here):
If you are from one of these institutions or programs, and would like to learn more, please read this: Interested in becoming a French House Assistant?
Once you have been accepted and assigned to UW-Madison, please fill out the form below if you are interested in becoming an assistant at the French House. Contact us if you have any questions.
