Paris 1911! A Century Celebration
Mills Hall, 7:30 pm
Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Jeffrey Siegel, distinguished pianist (Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony, New York Philharmonic) presents this Parisian chapter in his “Keyboard Conversations” which features forever engaging Parisian masterpieces composed exactly one hundred years ago, including Ravel’s Noble and Sentimental Waltzes, Preludes of Debussy and Faure, humorous short pieces of Eric Satie, and Stravinsky’s colorful Petrouchka.

During the performance, Siegel will play the full compositions and offer informal commentary in between pieces with historical backgrounds, examples of musical motifs and provocative questions to consider while listening. Audience participation is encouraged during a question and answer session to follow the concert.
